Friends, we had a decent storm last night in the Jonesboro area. It was noting compared   to the storms which came through our area a few weeks ago. People are still dealing with the damage that those storms caused. I couldn’t help but think about the storms last night in a spiritual sense. You know, we weather some storms of life. How can we walk through this world and weather the storms that come our way? I think its because we know of someone who has weathered storms much worse that we will ever face and came out, not unscathed, but, victorious!

Do you want to know why I did not fear the storms last night? Its because I knew that if we could survive the storms of a few weeks ago, which were much much worse than the storm of last night, that I would make it through and be just fine. Is it not wonderful to know that in a spiritual sense Jesus did that for us. We can look to Him and get our strength. He passed through trial of suffering and pain and temptation and came out on the other side victorious. The Hebrew’s writer says it best:

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast ourprofession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yetwithout sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Heb. 4:14-16).

Do you want to weather the spiritual storms of life with the strength of one who has passed through and survived all the trials with which He can be tried? Then look to Jesus, who is our example (1 Pet. 2:21). Follow in His steps and nothing can cause you to fall.
