“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” (Colossians 3:17).

The above verse should be the guiding light in everything we do.  If something can not be authorized it is sin. It goes beyond what is allowed. Sadly, it seems that many of our contemporaries have adopted the viewpoint of Martin Luther, “I favor bringing into the church of God and having part and parcel threof anything and everything not specifically forbidden and directly condemned.” We know that this is wrong. We should, rather, adopt the Scriptural principle, which is from God, of Ulrich Zwingli, “my platform is that in the matter of worship to God and service to the Lord we will accept nothing unless Scripture authorizes it.”

Brethren, we need to be more diligent in the area of ascertaining Bible authority and teaching the masses how to do such.
